Dressing Design

New medical devices rarely require the generation of new materials or drugs. More commonly, existing materials produced for applications outside of the medical field are transferred into it.

Relatively recent examples of existing materials being applied in new medical applications are: hydrophilic polyurethane foams for woundcare, reticulated foam for vacuum therapy and silicone adhesives for low-trauma removal topical devices.

We maintain vigilance for the production of new materials, outside of the medical field, that can be applied in existing medical applications. We obtain and experiment with samples, gaining tacit knowledge of their processability and compatibility characteristics with existing medical processes and materials.
